Dr. Jill Wicknick received her B.S. in Biology from North Central College, her M.S. in Biology from University of Texas Arlington, and her Ph.D. in Environmental and Evolutionary Biology from University of Louisiana Lafayette. She joined the faculty at the University of Montevallo in 2003. Dr. Wicknick received the UM Faculty Service Award in 2012 for her work related to environmental issues.
Dr. Wicknick teaches Ecology, Animal Behavior, Vertebrate Field Zoology, Invertebrate Zoology, Conservation Biology and courses in the Environmental Studies curriculum. Her research interests include behavior and ecology of amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates (primarily beetles and spiders). Outside of the classroom, she has supervised or served on committees for five Masters thesis projects and worked with dozens of students on undergraduate research projects.
