Banner Self-Service and Email Setup

New Student Account Setup (Banner Self-Service)

Follow the steps below to set up your UM student account. Banner Self-Service is a secure, web-based approach to accessing your UM personal and academic information from any device. Services include: financial aid information, course offerings and registration, employment information, and personal information.

  1. Visit login.microsoftonline.com.
  2. Enter the following information:
    a. Username — your UM email address (example@forum.738628.com)
    b. Initial password — your M# (The “M” must be capitalized.) and eight digit birthdate (mmddyyyy).
    NOTE: Undergraduate students receive their M# and username in their acceptance letters.
  3. Visit passwordreset.microsoftonline.com to reset your password. NOTE: Passwords must have a minimum of 16 characters.
  4. Contact the Solution Center at solutioncenter@738628.com or 205-665-6512 if you need to set your UM email password. Once you have reset your password, use the link below to access your Banner Self-Service.

Solution Center’s hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Montevallo Student Email

To access your student email account, use your UM email and password. Step by step instructions are also below for setting up student email on your Android or Apple device. If you have not setup your password or need to reset your password, contact the Solution Center at solutioncenter@738628.com or 205-665-6512.
