UMNAA Board

Letter from the UMNAA president

From UMNAA President, Cynthia Todd

Dear Fellow Alumni,

Over the past couple of weeks, we have all seen and felt the unrest in our communities and across the country resulting from the tragic death of George Floyd and others. We have witnessed anger and frustration at the issues of racial injustice and inequality. Many are hurting and feeling distressed as we watch the suffering and violence taking place around us.

The University of Montevallo National Alumni Association supports the Black Lives Matter movement. Our bylaws, policies and practices reflect diversity, sensitivity and a genuine desire to support the equal rights of all human beings. Our diversity as alumni is our strength and is the very asset that makes UM strong.

As we navigate through these difficult times, I encourage each one of us to support one another, listen with a heart to hear, and stand together in unity for the betterment of each other, our communities and our nation.

I am humbled to serve as your UMNAA President and want you to know that you are valued and loved. You are each an important part of our UM family.

Cynthia Todd, President
University of Montevallo National Alumni Association
