The Alabama Secretary of State has stated that disability service offices in public institutions of higher education fall within the agency-based voter registration provisions of the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA). The provision designates voter registration agencies as “…all offices in the State that provide State-funded programs primarily engaged in providing services to persons with disabilities.” [42 USC 1973gg-5(a)(2)(B)]
Students may visit http://www.sos.alabama.gov/alabama-votes/voter/register-to-vote to register to vote and they may contact AAC if disability-related assistance is needed to complete the registration process.
